The classic, Parisian bistro chair is adapted to fitting onto the smallest of balconies. We have two of these chairs with a collapsible table bought at a local flea market. In theory they can all be folded and brought indoors when the weather is bad, but in practise they’ve stayed out all year round. Even if it’s too cold and/or wet to sit out, it’s good to be reminded of the possibility.
The big, glazed Chinese pot in the picture came with the flat. It looked very elegant with a Hosta growing in it for a while, but the pot has no drainage holes and the Hosta drowned. The plant didn’t just suffer from waterlogged roots. Last summer it rained so much that the Hosta was floating!
