The hills that looked so tempting yesterday had disappeared in the low cloud by mid morning. Plans for climbing Goat Fell shelved till tomorrow, we followed a pleasant woodland path across the headland to Lamlash, on the next bay south.

No ferries were running to Holy Island today because of a stiff easterly breeze, which saved us from a cold, wet afternoon on a small windswept island.  We set off to walk back to Brodick along the coast path, planning to eat our sandwiches at the point, but the rain had settled in by the time we got there so we kept walking.

No photos of the rocky shore or the colourful salt marsh plants.  I’m not sure how waterproof my camera is and didn’t want to put it to the test.
