A cold, sunny morning with mist hanging over the river Seine. The poplar trees are still holding on to a last few autumn leaves but they are already laden with catkins, ready for spring.
A single, young weeping willow stands proud in the middle of the quayside. Looking the other way, downriver, the sun cuts through the mist but Notre Dame cathedral is hazy in the distance.
The boats in the foreground are cruising restaurants. In the background a plain, working container barge heads downstream towards Pont de Sully.
