A yellow butcher’s bike matches the labels on the butcher’s counter. An orange mixte blends in with an eye-catching orange shopfront. A minimalist fixed gear bike echoes the style of robust stainless steel railings… Nine more bikes on the streets of Paris that seem to be in just the right place. Most are chance combinations of bike and building, which happened to catch my eye, but I think two of these must fall in the category of ‘bikes as window dressing’.

 

 

The camera regularly lies.  Although Paris has lots of cyclists and is becoming progressively more bike friendly, few roads are as car free as these images suggest.  The cars, vans and motorbikes are just outside the frame!
