The pond water still holds summer’s warmth and the lilies continue to produce new leaves, even as the old one fade to yellow and slide below the surface.
Newly fallen leaves and seeds float high in the water, outlined by the pull of surface tension.
Layers of shadow and reflection overlie submerged foliage.
Autumn comes slowly here.

Plants on water make the most beautiful reflections. Autumn is never slow enough for me – my favourite time of year.

Very crisp shots, and those lilies certainly look very determined to grow eventhough autumn is on your way in your way part of the world. Maybe these bunch don’t fear the cold…or they really are trying to get summer to stay on a bit longer. Here in Australia we are in the middle of spring but a bit of cold is still lingering around – at least here in Melbourne where I am based.

Thanks for your kind comment. I guess it’s still relatively warm under the pond water so the plant keeps pushing out new leaves. I hope you’re enjoying the cool days of spring.
