A wet Monday morning in the Jardin du Luxembourg. The leaves that fell with the overnight rain lie undisturbed in variegated stripes of lemon yellow, rich gold and rust brown. Lime, maple and horse chestnut trees each add their distinct signature to the pattern of the leaf carpet.

I am not much of a fan of Autumn, in spite of everyone telling me what an amazing season it is. I have to concede that it is truly beautiful though, especially the leaf fall and colours. You have captured it perfectly here.

This was one of those grey, wet days that was brightened by the colour of autumn leaves. The same weather in November or February, when the trees are bare, is much more depressing!

I agree. Such a very late leaf fall this year, which is a good thing.
