Back in Paris, evening shadow fills the streets early now, leaving domes, towers and chimney pots floodlit by the low November sun.

Seen from the front of the Pantheon the dome just peeps over the massive portico.  From the back the dome dominates a narrow street view but the colonnaded structure looks quite light and delicate.

The central doorway is in deep shade but still forms the focal point of the grand facade.  The portico is after all an enormous porch and what’s a porch without a door?

The door may not be the star of this post but it’s linked to Thursday Doors nonetheless.
