Startlingly bright or gently faded, giant sized or quite the opposite. Red doors are always eye-catching, especially when they stand out against the pale cream of clean Paris limestone.

Some real beauties in this collection. My favourite is #47 the double door with the scalloped arch with the carvings. Nicely done 🙂

That one, 47 rue Vielle du Temple, is quite famous locally. The doorway dates from 1660 and until recently the door was a battered dark brown, clearly showing its age. The new coat of paint was rather startling but I guess the restorers researched the original colour before deciding on the red.
