Window box irises give a welcome touch of colour on a wet and windy day.
Raindrops on the stems and petals catch points of light.
Rain on the window, added to the distortions of old glass, make an impressionistic image…
tending towards abstract.
When taking photos of true blue flowers I’ve often found the colour comes out purple. Oddly the blue-purple of these iris flowers migrates the other way, towards blue.

Thank you for this Judith and all your other posts. Brightened up a dark wet afternoon in York!

These flowers are so lovely, Judith, and your images highlight the interesting details of the raindrops and window. Well done. We have had massive and much needed rain in California.

Thanks for your comment, Jane. It’s too easy to grumble about rain when it’s not in short supply. I’m glad to hear you’ve had a good downpour to break your drought.
