Twin doors, ancient and modern…
elegant simplicity with colourful passersby…
a grand entrance leading to a meagre door…
a tempting, glimpse of green in a homely courtyard…
and sweet temptations in a shop window.
This grand doorway doesn’t quite fit the space between the windows. There’s also something a little odd about the carving over the door. Click for a closer view and you’ll find that the face has two noses.
A selection for Thursday Doors, seen in passing in the 5th and 6th arrondissements.

Very nice pictures. I love the people in your pictures, I think they add life and vibrance to street images. I am often caught in the dilemma of posting street art unpolluted by people, or including them because they add perspective and narrative, not necessarily to the art, but to the photograph.

Thanks for your encouraging comment. It’s not always easy to include people in photos of buildings or street art in a way that enhances the picture but when it works out they do give perspective and context.

Love your gallery, Judith. I enjoyed the way the twin doors, although not exactly alike, mimicked each other, although one was old and the other new.

The one on the left in that first pics is downright regal. Gotta love a handsome majestic door like that.
Good collection 🙂

How did you every detect that second nose above the last door? It looks like a lion’s nose I think. Nice photos Judith.

I noticed the lion’s paws first, then zoomed in. I think the carved face is supposed to be wearing a lion skin over his head!
