Small and subtle or large and unmissable?  Some installations by mosaic street artist Space Invader are hard to overlook.  Other small pieces blend inconspicuously into the street scene, mimicking the colours of their surroundings like urban chameleons.  I’m never sure whether I’ve spotted a new one or finally noticed one that I’ve been passing regularly for months.

One of the many architectural features that seemed to have been waiting for colonisation. There were four blank, stone plaques around this junction on rue Claude Bernard. Two are blank no longer.
