A street of grand doors with door knockers to match.  In its 2km length, stretching from Saint Germain to Invalides, rue de Grenelle includes many fine eighteenth century hôtels particuliers. Several of these are foreign embassies, others are government ministries but, seen from the street on a quiet Sunday afternoon, they retain many characteristic details of the discreetly impressive mansions of their era.
