It wasn’t planned in two parts. I had a regular, orderly form in mind but it didn’t quite work out.
Plants grow through damage, re-establishing balance and making the most of resources.
So when one of the ‘leaves’ dropped off I took inspiration from plants and worked round the gap. Result, one lop-sided, plant inspired form and a spare piece you can move around as the fancy takes you. Disorderly stone carving with fiddle factor.

Thank you Pete. I’d never finish any piece of carving if I didn’t work round the mistakes!

All it took was looking at it in a different way. What plant doesn’t shed a few petals?
