Autumn leaves don’t lie long in the streets of Paris but (before the street sweepers come round) they bring a brief flash of colour and wildness to a grey city scene.

I’d crouched down for a closer view of a drift of leaves when this smartly dressed couple walked past.  A minute later I passed them further down the street, studying the colours of leaves in the gutter and stooping to pick out some flame coloured beauties.



This year’s leaves will be gone soon so take a closer look while you can.
