At first glance it looks like snow drifted on the grass and pathway….
but it’s not really white and it’s quivering in the wind.
There’s been a strong wind blowing in from the sea since Thursday and the waves have been whipped into a froth which becomes airborne when it hits the beach. The bitingly cold wind carries ever changing weather ahead of it too. Ten minutes of clear blue sky, five minutes of high white clouds, then a faceful of driven snow as the dark clouds dip low again. Four days ago it felt as though spring had reached Spittal. Today I’m not so sure.

Yesterday I was working in the sunshine with no jacket….. Today on the other hand… 3 jackets and snow all day!! At least I got an early finish!! ❄️❄️❄️

It feels as if the season’s going backwards at the moment. Not a good day for a garden centre!

Definitely not.. Still a few mad people came shopping. All the plants were fleeced, so hopefully they survive.. We only lost a few a couple of weeks ago.

Lovely photos Judith and I especially like the top one. Foamy beaches are fun!

What the photos don’t show is the foam mixed with fine sand flying horizontally through the air at head height. I couldn’t look directly out to sea because the wind was too fierce!

A wild woolly scene Judith. I love that frothy stuff. We get it periodically on our beaches too, depending on condiditons.

Wild and woolly describes it perfectly.

You have truly captured the searingly bitter wind in these photos. Cold beauty indeed.

Well, I’d believe this was snow. (By the way, did you notice a door especially for you in my latest door collection? I linked to an old door post of yours too.)

I noticed and appreciated ‘my’ door, thank you. I did respond to your post but that may have got lost among the other comments in a busy conversation.

Ahh, you did? Under my post or yours? I’m usually careful not to miss any comment. And I check the spam folder regularly too. I’ve just checked again and cannot find yours. Do you remember what you said? 🙂

Our ‘wild weather’ is gentle compared to your side of the Atlantic. Hope yours blows over soon. It’s calm and mild here again now.
