The ship in yesterday’s post had just left Tweed Dock, the Port of Berwick‘s serious working dock equipped with cranes, elevators and fork lift trucks. Just across the river the original Berwick dock is now rather sleepy. Home to half a dozen small fishing boats and a couple of cafés, it’s still a working quay but one where visitors are free to linger.

Thank you, Liz. It was the chain shadows that first caught my eye and got me looking for more interesting details.
