A walk by the River Tweed on a cold, crisp afternoon.
This riverside path is our scenic route to the railway station…
but today I’m heading past the steps up to the station and on under the railway viaduct
Just under the railway bridge – you can see part of the castle ruins at the right of the picture
Through a low arch in the castle ruins a wide view of the meandering river opens up ahead
The path is urban tarmac but the river feels wild and untamed up here
Across the river the frosty trees are taking on a tinge of sunset pink
The sun is sinking towards the horizon
Time to head for home
