A quiet corner of Berwick, just inside the ramparts of the town’s sixteenth century defences. The houses along College Place look mostly eighteenth and nineteenth century but may hide older remnants. There’s no college there today and no clue of where one has been.

I grew up in a new house in a part of the country that doesn’t have building stone so I find the timeless solidness of stone buildings fascinating.
