I did the Newcastle Half-marathon somewhere around 1990 (feels like it was 1890). I didn’t sightsee that much, but I still think those bridges may be newer.

The rail bridges are likely very old. I see the Millennium bridge is a newbie.

The Millennium Bridges was opened in 2001 but the other 6 bridges were there long before your visit. If you were running past you won’t have had time to count them!

My ex-girlfriend from University had a flat underneath one end of the Armstrong bridge. I’ve not been back since the Millennium Bridge was built.
