The end of the year offers an excuse to revisit favourite images. I’ve not travelled much this year so my 2019 archive includes many photos of Berwick…
with the distinctive clock tower on the Town Hall appearing in many views,
bridges, in Berwick and in Newcastle…
and benches with sea or river views.
It’s been a year of gardens, putting down roots in my own new garden, getting involved in local community gardening projects and visiting other gardens for inspiration. Inspiration sometimes comes from wild plants too.
And finally Spittal beach and the sea in all its moods, a magnet for the camera in any weather!

You seem to have made your new address truly your new home. An impressive gallery, just as your Paris photo album was. Hope 2020 consolidates the foundations you have laid!

Excellent. Bridges, benches, and Spitall are my faves. I ran my first 1/2 marathon in Newcastle upon Tyne, around ’79 or ’80 (19 not 18). I ran my last 1/2 in Bristol, just a year or two later. Too much work! I did run the London and Moscow Marathons in between. Short running career. Ah, youth. I was in my glorious forties then. Best wishes for 2020.
