Back lit by the sun, the fresh, new hawthorn leaves glow a vivid lime green.
Getting down low for a bees-eye view, reveals the delicate translucence of the hellebore petals.
The smooth, shiny physalis berry in its skeleton cage reflects the light, a contrast in both colour and texture to the surfaces around it.

Lovely. I can see you are going to be good during the ‘light’ month. The skeleton cage is my favourite, I love skeleton leaves and petals.

Beautiful pictures! Does that little berry grow like that, in the little “skeleton cage”? It’s really neat!

The ‘cage’ is a red and papery ‘Chinese lantern’ to start off with – the links at the bottom of the post take you to other posts where you can see earlier stages. It’s only after a winter’s weathering that you can see the berry inside.

All beautiful but the last one is just amazing. I hope you’re well, we are. The life with the alarm clock is something to get used to.

Thanks, Manja. Yes, we’re keeping well thank you, feeling very grateful for a large garden and daily walks by the sea.
