A crowd of golden rudbeckia flowers jostle past each other as they reach towards the sun. The weather has turned cold now but the bright flowers carry a memory of summer warmth.
Jude’s 2020 Photo Challenge for last week was Look Up. ‘Shoot your subject from below. Looking up will give the illusion of smallness (the viewer). An upwards angle will make the subject seem much more important.’ I’m not sure a low camera angle makes a rudbeckia flower look important but it certainly works for tall trees and buildings with skyward pointing towers. Here’s a selection of images from the last two years.

I don’t know, but I think the Rudbeckia do seem more important from this angle – hard to imagine that they aren’t huge flowers. A bug’s eye view 🙂

I guess preconceptions affect how you see an image. I ‘see’ what I already know about the flowers where another viewer would only have the clues the image gives. An interesting exercise. Thank you.
