The few late blooms of the Lark Ascending rose all have their faces turned to catch the low, morning sun as it reaches into the garden between neighbouring buildings.  Only a sideways view allows the camera to capture this flower without its shadow (and mine) blocking the sun.


It wasn’t until I came to download the image that I noticed the tiny spider at the tip of a petal and the spider silk catching the light.
