Weathered and sea worn, the breakwater posts lean together conversationally. They seem to be waiting for the tide to go out so they can set off across the sand to the rocky island.
Margaret of From Pyrenees to Pennines invited me to join her and other bloggers to post one favourite travel picture a day for ten days without explanation, then each day, nominate someone new to join in on the same terms. Liz from Exploring Colour – would you like to join in? No pressure if it’s not for you, but I’ve enjoyed exploring places I’m never likely to visit through your photos. Link back to this post if you decide to have a go.

Your beach photos are as ever lovely. This doesn’t quite look like Holy Island so I’m a bit stumped. But maybe you’re not in Spittal this time?

I should maybe have said these will all be photos on their second time around. A bit further south than Holy Island.

I am going through a backlog of posts in reverse order. I don’t recall what the answer to this one was. I would guess (because I have never been there) Brittany somewhere?

Yes, you’re right. These are two of the forts defending the ‘corsair city’ of St Malo.
