After a brief taste of spring at the end of February, we’ve gone back to cold, grey, cloudy weather. The primroses and early spring bulbs in the garden are keeping their new buds tightly furled. Looking back through my photos I find it’s not just this year. It seems there’s often a tempting glimpse of spring in late February, followed in early March by a return to the-season-in-between. The days are longer now so it’s not really winter but spring is on hold, waiting for the sun to break through. Meanwhile, here’s a collection of March flowers from the last five years to remind me (and maybe you) that spring has nearly sprung.
