Hi Judith,
Just seen your gorgeous beach photos. What a treat ! I so enjoy seeing your posts.
Last December we had a few days away during a window between lockdowns, and went to Amroth, Pembrokeshire, an area we hadnât explored before. I fell in love with the beach there and took, I think 200 + photos over four days ! Iâve attached a few for you to see. It was so exciting. We were looking up the weather forecast and tide times each day to work out when we wanted to go to the beach.
Hope all is well with you and Martin. Iâm having a difficult time. I was diagnosed with a retinal bleed which is affecting my vision significantly. I saw a consultant last week who thinks in addition to the bleed I may have a perforated retina, which would contraindicate the treatment for the bleed. I now have to wait for a scan before any decisions are made about possible treatment. Itâs all rather scary, especially as my vision is deteriorating in the meantime.
Alison xx

Hi Alison,
It’s lovely to hear from you, though I’m sorry to hear of your scary eye problems. Unfortunately I couldn’t see your beach pictures – I don’t think the blog allows you to attach images to messages. I’ll email you directly so we can get back in touch via a method that allows photos. Judith x

These are all beautiful, the sea is the perfect subject for the challenge. I especially loved wind and weather – we don’t see such action on our sheltered barrier island. Lovely response, thanks for joining us.

Perfect choices, Judith. Light by the sea is always changing and exciting. Beautiful set, and my favourites are the wind and weather ones – the sky and clouds seem to be mimicking the sea – or the other way around.

Thank you for your thoughtful comment, Leya. The sea and sky often seem to echo each other.

Judith, your first sea picture is stunning to scroll into, the way the light plays off the wet black rock is something I’ve never seen. Most of our coastlines have craggy rocks or rocks that are covered with either moss or massive amounts of bird droppings. I think someone or something over feeds the sea gulls. I love the sea and you have captured it in many different lights. Well done.

Thank you for your kind comment, Marsha. Here on the Northumberland coast, the changing directions of wind and waves mean that the beach is constantly on the move. The rocks are sometimes buried under the sand and then scoured clean again so the alga doesn’t get a chance to grow. I take a lot of photos of attractive rocks!

Thanks for your kind comment. I sometimes feel I take far too many photos of Spittal beach but the view is always changing.

Well that’s just the wonderful thing about the sea isn’t it? Never the same two days in a row – or even two hours!
