The tumbled cap stones show that this field wall has seen better days. No longer a boundary keeping livestock from straying, the wall simply marks the edge of an arable field and no one bothers to repair it. The wall may have outlived its original purpose but it has been growing old gracefully, hosting a varied population of slow growing lichens on its stones and untold mini-beasts in its crevices.
The wall ends abruptly with a pile of fallen stone and its place is taken by a wire fence. That’s seen better days too. Seen Better Days is the theme of the Lens-Artists Challenge #168.

A marvellous gallery and a great home for “untold mini-beasts”. 🙂

Great shots – and what an ingenious use for those old boats.

Those boats have become quite famous in their retirement.
