It rained today, steady soaking rain drenching parched fields and gardens as well as unlucky holiday makers. Then towards evening the sky cleared to a delicate, rain washed blue…
reflected in a calm sea…
and the water-filled sand ripples left by the receding tide.
The last few wisps of clouds caught the glow of the setting sun.

It’s been a very dry summer here, though not hot by world standards. The rain was much needed.

Yes. Up here people have been enjoying the unusual treat of sitting out on warm evenings but overall the outlook is really worrying.

Our state has been in drought for seven years. It’s becoming desperate for farmers. The fire season looms. My sister lives among national forests which is a huge worry.

It’s hard to imagine how any farm can keep going through a seven year drought. Britain’s had a taste of wildfire this year with several moorland fires but the extent and power of forest fires in your region, as in California, is in a different league. Worrying indeed.
