Oak leaves at the turning point between summer green and autumn gold. Autumn can be a sad and wistful season, as the days get shorter and the year turns towards to winter. For a gardener it’s the time to prepare the ground for the year to come and to look forward to new beginnings. Gardening demands (and encourages) hopefulness. Maybe things didn’t work out as planned this year but there’s always another season and the chance of a fresh start.
