Very nice! My favorite color has always been blue, so I find the doors and shutters quite attractive.

I love those doors. Do you happen to know if the colour blue has any special significance in Brittany? In Spain it is traditionally used to keep the witches at bay. I don’t know if they still believe in them, but they keep painting doors and windows blue.

I don’t know whether blue doors are supposed to have any protective effect in Brittany but the colour is certainly long established in the region. There’s even a special Breton word for a particular shade of sea-blue-green that is supposed to be untranslatable!

The Breton blue-green is ‘glaz’. You’ll find a short discussion of its particularity on Wiktionnaire.
