A young girl sails a rainbow-coloured umbrella over a sea of grey ones, accompanied by a shoal of flying fish. This mural by Seth was painted in June 2013 after a memorably wet spring and the grey drip lines at the bottom of the piece cleverly suggest that the painting was rained off. The colours sing out against a cloudy sky. This mural just doesn’t look so good when it’s competing with blue.

Wonderful, and another great story. I like his work. I’ve not seen it before.

Seth gets around a bit – under the name Globepainter – but still finds time for odd unofficial pieces around Paris as well as the big commissions. If you click on the Seth tag you’ll find a few more on my blog.

I LOVE this. I need a rainbow umbrella/boat.

I like the way the people under the grey umbrellas are oblivious to the rainbow boat and fish above them. I think the message is ‘make sure you look up sometimes’!
