As the days grow shorter the sun disappears behind tall buildings early in the evening, plunging the streets between into deep shade. Look up and the domes, towers and rooftops of the city are still bathed in sunlight.
Just before sunset warm sunlight highlights the ornately carved gables of Le Louvre…
while the square below is in shadow.
As the sun sinks below the horizon the sharp contrast between sun and shade vanishes but up towards the rooftops grey stone is still warmed to pink by the day’s afterglow.

You seem to catch the beauty of such things. I suspect I’d bemoaning about the shadows!

Needs must. There have been too many days when I meant to take the camera out earlier but don’t get round to it until the sun has already dropped behind the buildings!
