Yesterday’s post looked back over a year in Paris. Today’s photos are an account of a year in the making of our new Spittal garden, a backward glance but also a glimpse of the future.
January – a few sticks in the snow are the only sign of a garden in progress
February – I planted the second row of fruit trees in a mild week, then it snowed again
March – the garden taking shape
May – apple blossom
June – waist high grass waiting for the scythe and roof repairs on the stable
July – dill and ‘black’ poppies
August – apples and beans
September – cosmos and more dill
October – autumn colour on the new beech hedge
November – rudbeckia flowers standing strong in wind and rain
December – waiting for spring again
I’m looking forward to putting down roots in the coming year. Whatever your plans for 2019 I wish you fulfillment in them. Happy New Year!
