Just off busy Boulevard Magenta there’s a peaceful garden with flowers, herbs, veg patches, a pyramid and a dragon……

Jardin Saint Laurent has been developed over the last two years by a group of local residents and people sans domicile fixé (of no fixed abode) supported by Emmaüs.   It’s a garden full of surprises showing imagination and attention to detail.  It’s a place where people can share their skills, whatever their difficulties, and maybe find a sense of belonging in creating a special place that is admired and valued by the local community.

Quiet when I took these photos, the garden buzzes with activity when there’s an open day or community event.  Here’s a link to an account (in French) of last year’s open day and some of the people who have helped to make the garden.
