Dwarfed by the grand scale of the dome above it, an ordinary door sits at the head of a steep flight of stairs.   The door for a quick, emergency exit maybe?

Or maybe not.  This doorway, high up on the Pantheon, isn’t an easy way out.

I took these photos late yesterday evening in the soft light of a summer evening.  The clear sky and pink sunset glow hinted at a fine day ahead but there were dark clouds gathering on the horizon.   This morning the overcast sky suits my mood.  A narrow majority of British voters have turned the country towards the EU exit but the way out isn’t going to be as quick and simple as they may have hoped.

A post for Thursday Doors.
