The yellow dahlias are still producing a few flowers each day but now big, orange Sylvia dahlias and golden yellow rudbeckias are the stars of the corner shop basket.
Rudbeckia ‘Sahara’ adds more subtle colour in shades of bronze and sandy yellow. Grown from seed this year, this variety is sold as perennial but the plants are so soft and juicy I’ll be surprised if they survive the winter.

Fabulous colours that work so well together.

Oranges and yellows are dominant in the garden at the moment so this colour range is easy to pick. Finding something to go with the pale pink snapdragons is trickier!

Sylvia is my very favorite dahlia…so perfect is shape and color, and a good size for bouquets. Your basket is my “ideal” color combinations.

Sylvia has long, strong stems too. Certainly a winner as a cut flower.
