For the Lens-Artists Challenge #169 I.J. Khanewala invites us to look at The Ordinary. Photography can make mundane objects into something extraordinary, if the photographer sees the possibility. These two watering cans make an interesting composition but somehow they’re still ordinary. They (or I as photographer) have not made the leap into the extraordinary. Here’s a collection of favourite images from past posts; ordinary things or not so ordinary?

Rain on a hosta leaf – May 2016
Chain and mooring ring – Bassin de l’Arsenal – September 2016

Oh yes! Those hit the spot. I was going to pick a favourite – but I can’t.

That’s a stunning set of photos. So many interesting patterns in the everyday. I can’t pick a favourite, but I will make an honourable mention of the watering cans and the pebble on wood. And the rake, and the building, and the stairs …

Good photo selections. Dance of the Watering Cans, when you’ve run out of Sugar Plum Fairies? 🧐

Definitely NOT ordinary Judith! So many of your images are truly wonderful. I’d agree that the watering cans are not my favorite but so many of the others truly made the leap! The steps in shadow and the plant at the end are two of my favorites.
